Oriental and Area Rugs

You can trust your fine area rugs to All Pro Carpet Cleaners

DEEP CLEANING

  1. Home Pre-Inspection and Pickup – We closely inspect the rug’s foundation, colorfastness, fibers, knots, fringe, colors, soils, problems such as urine, overall condition  and any other factors that may affect cleaning and outline expected results to you when we pickup the rug at your home.
  2. Dry Soil Removal – The most important step in cleaning any textile is removing dry soils such as hair, dust, dirt, sand, dead skin cells, etc.  The dry soil in woven rugs makes up about 75% of all the soil in the rug and is buried deep in the fibers, which is why these rugs may not look dirty on the surface, but really are.    A few years ago, the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9 x 12 area rug could hide 87 pounds of dirt!  The structure of wool fiber makes it particularly able to hide dry soil–which is great for looks, but if not removed, dry soil will reduce the life of your investment while working on the fibers like sandpaper.  All Pro Carpet Cleaners uses a mechanical rug duster (not a regular vacuum cleaner) which vibrates the rug to remove this deep, lodged in soil.
  3. Rug Washing & Rinsing – Depending on the type of rug, it will be immersed in a mild solution or cleaned on both sides with rug shampoo and warm water extraction.  Immersion is the most thorough washing available for oriental rugs and the process necessary for rugs with urine.   Not all rugs can be cleaned by immersion–some rugs with concerns of dimensional stability or serious dye bleeding may benefit from other methods.
  4. Fringe Cleaning and Grooming – Fringe is treated and washed and brushed prior to drying.  Soft groomers brush the nap of the rugs to give it that finished look.
  5. Drying – Most rugs are dried flat in a controlled environment with correct temperature, humidity, and airflow to expedite the drying process.
  6. Post Cleaning Inspection – A final inspection insures that we have removed all spots/stains that can be removed.  Fringe is inspected and brushed.  The rug is vacuumed again and wrapped for delivery.  Upon delivery, we will lay the rug for you and vacuum it.

LIGHT CLEANING

Rugs with minor soiling may be cleaned on the surface with warm water extraction  in your home.  This cleaning will not remove embedded soils or odors from urine.  Fringe is not cleaned with the light cleaning.    With the in-home cleaning, only vacuuming is performed, the mechanical rug duster is not used.

Please call our office and we will be happy to take a look and tell you what we can do for all of your rugs!
